BOSTON, Mass.—The UMass Boston men's basketball coaching staff announced their 2013-14 schedule Monday afternoon. UMass Boston will once again play against some of the top teams in the region, with home tilts against MIT, Tufts University and a trip to Amherst College on the docket.
Head Coach Charlie Titus will enter his 38th season at the helm of the Beacons just eight wins shy of reaching the 300-win milestone. Last season, UMass Boston posted their most overall wins (12) and conference wins (eight) in eight seasons and reached the Little East Conference Tournament for the first time since the 2009-10 season.
The Beacons will kick off their 2013-14 campaign on Friday November 22 when the Beacons to the other side of the state for the two-day, four-team Amherst College Tip-off Tournament.
UMass Boston will return to Boston November 26 to take on cross-town rival Suffolk University, before taking a short Thanksgiving Break.
After Thanksgiving, UMass Boston will look to defend their Harbor Invitational Crown, when the Beacons host the 29th edition of the annual tournament. UMass Boston will host College of St. Joseph (Vt.), Wesleyan University and Emerson College.
The Beacons will continue their season-long four game home-stand December 3 when they take on MIT, before opening their Little East Conference slate with a December 7 matchup against Keene State.
Titus' squad will close out first semester with a road trip against Rhode Island College (December 14).
Out of the break, UMass Boston will play five of their next eight games at home, including non-conference games against Colby-Sawyer College (January 4) and Tufts University (January 23).
UMass Boston will close out the regular season on the road against Western Connecticut State University Saturday February 22 at 3:00 p.m.
