BOSTON, Mass. – For the second straight week, senior outfielder Nick Herzog (Riverhead, N.Y.) has been named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week, after another week of team-leading performances.
Herzog continued the Beacons stretch of earning a spot on the national team as UMB has had one player named to the team for the last four consecutive weeks.
Last week, Herzog posted a .476 (10-21) average and a slugging percentage of 1.333 during UMB's 4-1 week. Eight of his 10 hits went for extra bases, including two doubles, two triples, and four home runs. He also drove in eight, while crossing home plate nine times.
He started the week going 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in the 13-4 win over Endicott. Against Castleton University he combined for six hits with a double, two triples, and two home runs, while tallying four RBI and six runs scored in the sweep. In the last game of the regular season, the New York native went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored.
