Moquette Named FCBL Hitter of the Week

NASHUA, N.H.—Senior outfielder Jamill Moquette (Boston, Mass.) followed up his strong junior season with a big start to his summer campaign, earning the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) Hitter of the Week Award, the league office announced Monday.

Moquette opened the season with a huge week for his summer league club, the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs, hitting .429 with two doubles and two home runs. The rising senior added four runs scored and four RBI to help Wachusett to a 1-3 record.

He opened the season by taking home Player of the Night honors on Opening Night, behind a pair of extra-base hits and two RBI in a 7-4 victory over the Torrington Titans.

This season's Titans squad features another familiar face, rising junior Pat Austin (Torrington, Conn.) who figures to be on the team's top starters.

The FCBL is in its third season and stands as on the top collegiate summer leagues in the country, with a strong emphasis on showcasing local talent.
