Jamill Moquette Named NEIBA All New England

BOSTON, Mass. -- Sophomore shortstop Jamill Moquette (Boston, Mass.) was named to the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association All-New England Division Three Team Wednesday afternoon.

In his first season with the Beacons, Moquette led UMass Boston in almost every statistical category and was an almost unstoppable force at the plate. He finished with a team-best .377 average, while also recording team-highs with 36 runs, 55 hits, 13 doubles, four triples and four home runs. The Boston native also paced the Little East Conference with 28 stolen bases in 31 attempts.

The Madison Park High School graduate easily adjusted to Division III pitching, as he finished with a .603 slugging percentage and .486 on-base percentage. Moquette garnered the attention of Little East foes all year and was rewarded when he was named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week on April 9th, after helping the Beacons to a 5-1 week.

He also boasted a program-best 17-game hitting streak from April 2nd to April 28.
