Spring Teams to Represent Numerous Causes This Afternoon

BOSTON, Mass. – With baseball, softball, and men’s lacrosse all in action this afternoon at their respective home fields the UMass Boston Athletics department will be showing their support for three different causes.

At this afternoon’s baseball doubleheader at Yetten Field in Waltham, the Beacons will be raising money and awareness as part of the 2nd Annual Little East Baseball Prostate Cancer Awareness Day.  Softball will be holding their annual Breast Cancer Awareness game, and the men’s lacrosse team will be helping with the Project Purple movement, which is an initiative that brings attention to substance abuse.

The baseball and softball doubleheaders are scheduled to begin at noon, while the lacrosse game is set for 1 p.m. start.  To find out more information about these great causes go to the links below.
