Jimmy Cannon Leads Way For Indoor Track at Little East Conference Championship


PLYMOUTH, N.H. – UMass Boston Men's Indoor Track competed at the Little East Conference Indoor Track Championship on Saturday afternoon, finishing in eighth place with 11 points in the meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Freshman Frank Boua recorded a personal best for the Beacons in the Men's 400 Meter Run, placing eighth overall in the event in a time of 54.94 seconds.

Freshman Rob Cannon notched his personal best in the Men's 1,000 Meter Run with a time of 2:46.31 which placed him ninth overall.

Graduate student Jimmy Cannon played a role in helping UMass Boston score all 11 points in their meet, finishing fifth in the Men's 3,000 Meter Run in a time of 9:05.00 before placing second in the Men's 5,000 Meter Run, just 11 seconds back of UMass Dartmouth's Jacob Paris for the victory, in a time of 15:37.02.

Rounding out the points for UMass Boston was the Cannon brothers along with sophomore Zeph Alvarado and junior Christopher Druding in the Men's 4x800 Relay in which they placed sixth overall with a time of 9:18.44
 
WHAT'S NEXT  
UMass Boston will prepare for the DIII New England Regional Championship being held at The TRACK at New Balance on Friday and Saturday of next week in Boston, Massachusetts.
