Tracey Hathaway was promoted to the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance for the University of Massachusetts Boston athletics department in July of 2014. As the compliance officer, Hathaway oversees the NCAA compliance for all 18 varsity sports teams, student-athletes, coaches, athletic staff, and all appropriate university personnel. She maintains all NCAA on-line compliance systems that include completing the Sports Sponsorship and Demographic forms, Institutional Self-Study, the NCAA Financial and the EADA report, as well as representing the institution at national conferences. 

Prior to Boston, Hathaway worked at Concordia University Texas in Austin, TX as the senior woman administrator (SWA) and assistant athletic director (AAD) for the 13 NCAA Division III varsity sports. As SWA and AAD, Hathaway performed various tasks, including the implementation of new strategies to develop the athletic department as a whole, along with sports supervision and academic liaison responsibilities. Hathaway also worked at Northeastern University (DI), Boston, MA as a compliance assistant and at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, where she served as the head women’s basketball coach and compliance coordinator.

She currently is a member of the NCAA Infraction Committee, the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA), the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA), and the African American Women in Higher Education (AAWHE) of New England.  Previously she served as a member of the NCAA DIII Track & Field/Cross Country Committee.  She has attended the NCAA Division III Institute for Administrative Advancement (DIII Institute), NACWAA’s Institute for Administrative Advancement, and the NCAA/Women’s Coaches Academy.

Hathaway earned her bachelor’s degree in urban affairs from the University of Rhode Island. She also holds a master’s degree in sports leadership from Northeastern University.
