INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA has released the names of the qualifiers for the outdoor national championship meet, which is set to begin on May 24 at the Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Earning a spot in this year's championship field from the men's team was Dom Nda (Pittsfield, Mass.) who will compete in the 100-meter dash in his final season as a Beacon. The men's 4x100-meter relay team, which sits fifth in the country will also be in action and will feature Nda, Stefan Powell (Hyde Park, Mass.), Bless Amedoadzi (Boston, Mass.), and Garth Miriyoga (Johannesburg, South Africa).
On the women's side, Wadeline Jonathas (Gonaives, Haiti) will headline this year's championship as she is set to compete in five events (200, 400, long jump, 4x1, and 4x4). Senior Taylor Driggers (Lisbon, Conn.) will also be busy in Wisconsin as she qualified in four events, the most in her college career (triple jump, long jump, 4x1 and 4x4). Also competing for the Beacons in the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays alongside Jonathas and Driggers will be Lexy Bean (Danvers, Mass.) and Olivia Burnes (Paxton, Mass.).
For each men's individual event contested, including the decathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each women's individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contest, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
