NEW ORLEANS, La. – A program best 13 All-Region honors were bestowed on the track and field program, as they prepare for the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championship meet.
For the first time in program history the Beacons saw their two championship 4x100-meter relay teams earn All-Region accolades. On the women's side Taylor Driggers (Lisbon, Conn.), Lexy Bean (Danvers, Mass.), Olivia Burnes (Paxton, Mass.), and Wadeline Jonathas (Gonaives, Haiti) each earned their first All-Region accolade. Jonathas also earned All-Region honors in the 100-, 200-, and 400-meter dashes, as well as in the long jump. The freshman from Haiti now has the program record for most All-Region honors in a season with an impressive five.
On the men's team, Dom Nda (Pittsfield, Mass.) is now a three-time All-Region honoree. This season he earned his second straight honor in the 100-meter dash, while also picking-up an All-Region accolade in the 4x100-meter relay with Garth Miriyoga (Johannesburg, South Africa), Stefan Powell (Hyde Park, Mass.), and Bless Amedoadzi (Boston, Mass.).
